Toronto: Toronto Island and the CN Tower

Filed under: There and Back Again

Bright and early Leah and I went downtown on the subway and caught the ferry out to Toronto Island.  The ride out to the island doesn’t take too long and the view of the city skyline is amazing.

Me and my Toronto landmark–I really am a sucker for monumental architecture.  Sigh.

Toronto Island is absolutely gorgeous with gardens and wild places, beaches and amusement parks. Most of it was shut down for the season, but walking around for a couple of hours was incredible.

My favorite photo from the weekend, we’re both a little windblown after the ferry, but we’re happy.

The oldest light house in Toronto.  I still have a little crush on the bright red door.

Even smothered in storm clouds this skyline is amazing.  The CN Tower dominates and, frankly, the first time I saw it it actually took my breath away.

It’s trickier than you would think to get two people and a GIANT tower into one photo.  This is the best one I’ve got.

Yes, you will get a little dizzy standing at the bottom and looking up at the tippy-top.

This is one of my favorite photos, and I can’t tell you the kind of contortions I had to perform in order to get this photo.  Seriously, people, this kind of skill should be listed on my resume or something.

gorgeousness. that tv-tower is “exactly” as the one in berlin, germany. i wonder why that is, haven’t felt inclined to look further into it. yet. i took a photo with the berlin tower and a church tower when we were there last. pretty nice that was:)
