The following post was not written by me, it is part of the lovely Blog Share organized by -R- from And You Know What Else.  I have an anonymous post published elsewhere on The Internets (but I’m not telling you where, it’s a secret) and the post below is from an anonymous BlogFriend.  From the sounds of things, it looks like she could use a little support, please leave some comment love.  For a complete list of participating Blog Sharers (is that even a word?) check the bottom of this post.

I hate my job. I know I am supposed to be grateful that I have a job. I would rather have my job than no job, but I don’t think that means I have to like it or that I can’t complain.

My friend’s wife is pregnant with their third kid. My friend’s boss told him not to tell anyone at work that his wife is pregnant because management won’t think my friend is dedicated to his job if he has “too many” kids.

The men at my job are supposed to have kids because it makes them look well-rounded, but I guess they aren’t supposed to have more than two kids, and they definitely aren’t supposed to actually spend time with their kids.

My friend who worked during her “maternity leave” and traveled to speak at a conference on behalf of our company during her “maternity leave” was told when she came back from leave that she didn’t seem dedicated to her job and will not be promoted.

Our pay was cut, but we have to work more hours.

I know three senior men who are currently have affairs with junior women who work for them. The official policy is that these kind of affairs are not allowed. One of the men having an affair was recently promoted.

I had an interview at a different company two weeks ago. Today I got a call that the company wants me to come back and meet with a few more people. If I don’t get this new job, I am going to be devastated.

My fingers are crossed for you. I hope you get the job! And I hate double standards, especially in the workplace. You deserve better.

Work affairs make me crazily angry. My old boss had an affair with my colleague, but I was the one who got screwed.

I wish you all the best. I know what it’s like to hate your job. It’s soul-destroying, so I really hope you find your way out of there.

Crossing mine too! I sooo know what you mean I hate my job too, actually I hate the people I work with the job is mundane but I can do it no prob! But as the 2nd of only 2 women who work here can I say sexism!!! So double standards, I work in the last vanguard of old skool attitudes, I’ve experienced sexual harassment & I can’t really do anything about it as it’s his word against mine no witnesses!!
I so hope you get out of there soon & find somewhere that appreciate you! I know I’m trying to go & will do ASAP Good luck Seeya Hugya *G*

And people wonder why our economy is in the crapper. When you have pigs like that running companies for their own gain and killing morale, it is no wonder all these businesses are failing. Those managers are hurting more people than they realize. Hopefully this new job works out for you. Good luck

I feel like I say, “well, I guess I’m lucky to have a job at all” to excuse a lot of bad behavior from people at my job. I feel your pain. Good luck with your interview!

Good luck getting this new job…whoever you are!

Good luck!!!!! We’re rooting for you!

I understand. I’ve been applying for new jobs for two years. My work situation is laughable. I sometimes feel like my soul is dying. But you know what? I’m not going to let my job win.

Yeesh. I really hope you get the new job. Your current company sounds completely backwards. Good luck!

I hope you get the job. I’ve been in jobs that suck before and there is nothing worse. You have to get up every morning and face it. It sucks. But keep your chin up, because new and better opportunities do, in fact, come along.

oy really hope you get that new job, definitely doesn’t sound like a place to stay.

Good luck. You need to get out of that toxic environment. If this job doesn’t come through, keep trying. You will find something better.
