Ring Ring Ring…
Ring Ring Ring…
Beeeeeeep.
Hi, this is heidikins. I’m not here right now, I’ve taken Miss Roxy on a completely spontaneous roadtrip and will be spending a few nights in America’s Playground/Mile-Long, Outdoor Bar.

Viva! Las Vegas!
And then I’ll be popping back into Utah to see this, for the first time. Ever. As in, I didn’t see the movie either…which may qualify for me un-American. Please don’t report me, ok?

High School Musical is being performed at a fancy-pants outdoorsy theatre surrounded in red rock, Tuacahn looks like this, but ya know, with a stage and stuff.

I’m also heading back to my Shakespearean roots and watching a little something here.

No, that’s not the Globe Theatre in London, Roxy doesn’t have a passport–yet. That is a world-famous replica of Shakespeare’s Globe in Festival City, U.S.A. (aka The Middle of the Desert). Coincidentally, it is the center of a massive Shakespearean Festival that won a Tony Award a while back. Good stuff. And I am definitely going to be eating my weight in animal-style burgers from my favorite California transplant.

So, leave a message after the beep and tell me which of the following you like the best, and why.
a) Las Vegas, Nevada (America’s Playground)
b) High School Musical (1, 2 or 3?)
c) Shakespeare (For Sooth!)
d) In-N-Out (Mmmmm….In-N-Out!)
Beeeeeeeeep!

hahaha … I’ve seen HSM, and I have no kids (my own or anyone elses) to blame it on. I’ve been to Vegas, and while it was fun, I’m more of an outdoors adventure kinda gal, so the Grand Canyon part of that trip was more my thing… And Shakespeare? Loves. In-N-Out – haven’t had it, but heard great things
Comment by Z 2008 July 20 @ 10:11 amI’ll be going down for some Shakespeare myself in two weeks. It’s a yearly tradition. This year I’ll be fitting in a little hiking in Zion as well. I hope you fill up on tarts along with your In-N-Out.
Comment by Sra 2008 July 20 @ 10:12 amMmmmmm… In N Out…
Comment by Sov 2008 July 20 @ 12:36 pmI may or may not have seen HSM more times than any woman in her twenties should admit to. The first one though…the second didn’t do as much for me.
Shakespeare is also fabulous. We have a Shakespeare in the Park trip planned at the end of the summer.
Comment by Erin 2008 July 20 @ 12:47 pmSadly, I have not experienced any of these….well I am not really sad about the High School Musical part, the others I am!
Comment by Jackie 2008 July 20 @ 1:54 pmVegas is cool… for like two-three days… then it’s just depressing. I have never seen High School Musical. Shakespeare is a little high brow for moi. And, you know, burgers aren’t really my thing. I guess Vegas wins by default.
Comment by Lou 2008 July 20 @ 2:14 pmI have been craving a trip to Vegas lately, but then I remember that it’s a million degrees there, and I realize I’m quit content where I am. Ha ha.
I know this is burger blasphemy or something, but I don’t understand the world’s obsession with In-N-Out. I think their food is disgusting. Don’t tell anyone I said that. I don’t want to be hanged!
Comment by Britt 2008 July 20 @ 3:03 pmD. I gotta stick with my roots.
Comment by Naomi 2008 July 20 @ 3:54 pmYou must tell me whether I, too, should see “HSM.” I’ve avoided it so far…
Comment by Laurel 2008 July 20 @ 5:25 pmI LOVE the Shakespeare Festival – I was just there on Friday and Saturday. We saw Cyrano and Taming of the Shrew.
Comment by Janssen 2008 July 20 @ 6:20 pmUm, I’ve never been to Las Vegas, and I’m a tad bit jealous.
Also, I don’t think I’ve ever been to In-N-Out. I KNOW.
Comment by Jess 2008 July 21 @ 6:17 amIt’s Red Rox for me! Outdoors and just outside of Las Vegas, by the way! My brother just moved there from San Diego. You should give them a call!
Comment by Jen 2008 July 21 @ 6:57 amI vote HSM 2. Yes I am a 25 year old wife and mother of two, but Zac Efron is just so dang hott, and I love his moves when he sings “Bet On It”. Yum.
Comment by Megs 2008 July 21 @ 11:48 amFor Sooth! I like best the Shakespeare Festival. Sort of by default, haven’t seen HSM and haven’t been to the in-n-out. Only briefly been to Vegas, as in I drove through it on my way to California. Hey but sounds like a great trip. ENJOY!
Comment by Heather 2008 July 21 @ 1:05 pmYup, In-n-Out by far! So world traveler, will you be doing this all alone, or with a special someone?
Comment by Mandi 2008 July 21 @ 2:00 pmyay for spontaneous road trips! and viva vegas and in-n-out, mmmmmmdelicious
Comment by katelin 2008 July 21 @ 4:58 pmA) Yuck.

C) Yuck. (Heresy! I know! And I was even an English major!)
D) Yum. Good thing I live in California.
Hope you have a great time!
Comment by Kiersten 2008 July 22 @ 8:12 amWhen you see HSM pay attention to the guy who plays . . . um . . . ryan? The totally flamboyant brother of the brother-sister duo. I was friends with the guy who plays him in middle school. Not so much friends anymore, but still. Kinda cool.
Comment by Audrey 2008 July 22 @ 11:58 amI love you and your spontaneous road trips. Here’s to August *cheers*
