Most of us love cute bags and purses, some of us go to great lengths to find the perfect handbag. Many of us have posted the contents of our bags for the entire interweb to see (myself included).
In the last year or two many bloggers have posted about efforts to decrease their carbon footprint. I have made a concerted effort to stop buying bottled water, to use a canvas bag at the grocery store instead of those flimsy plastic bags, to use a washable thermos at Starbux, to drive less and walk more, and generally live a healthier lifestyle to do my part to protect the planet. I think most of us have done something to help the cause. And if you haven’t, here’s your big chance. I don’t usually encourage the internet to waste their work hours spend more time online check out my latest obsession, but sometimes things are important and sometimes they also happen to be good for the planet or just flat out adorable. And sometimes, they are all three.
So, combine the two interests -bags and helping Mother Earth- with three qualifiers -important, helping plant, adorableness- and what do you get? You get Ruthie Pearl, the cutest earth-friendly bags. Ever.

This is my latest love, a reversible chocolate brown-and-light blue bag with long enough straps to sling over my shoulder and enough room to hold an entire week’s worth of groceries, apples to zucchini, (if I bought zucchini… which, I’ll be honest, I don’t). There are lots of different patterns and color combos; polka dots and paisley and stripes (oh my!). These bags are so cute I want to take them everywhere! AND…(yes, it gets better)… Ruthie Pearl has launched an adorable line of reusable gift bags, in various sizes, for all your birthday and gifting needs.
Aren’t those just the most adorable bags? I love the idea of being able to tie up a gift in under 2 minutes without having to search for wrapping paper and coordinating ribbon, or a season-appropriate gift-bag with coordinating tissue paper. Not to mention tracking down the tape; I am always out of tape.
Have I sold you on the cuteness yet? I hope so, the story just gets better. Because I happen to love my readers; and because Lauren, the brilliant genius behind Ruthie Pearl, happens to love me, there is a discount for all of you lovely ladies (and the handful of indubitably handsome gents who peruse this site from time to time) who want to help the planet with adorable Ruthie Pearl goodness. Look over the bags here, and when you find the one (or two!) that you love the best, enter HEIDIKINS as a discount code at check-out and you’ll get $5 dollars off. [Edit to add: it's actually a 20% discount off the entire order!! Time to stock up ladies!]
Ruthie Pearl may be a new company, but Lauren and her cute bags are already gaining recognition around the country. Just a few weeks ago Ruthie Pearl made the front page of the Andalusia Star in Alabama! So, jump on the Ruthie Pearl bandwagon, pick your favorite bag (at a discount!), and do your part to give Mother Earth a helping hand.
