The last week has been chock-full of too much stuff; work, life, plays, friends, everything. And I’m not complaining about any of them, I’m just saying my planner is scribbled full of STUFF. It’s crazy. And I have writers block, not the type of writers block where you can’t get your thoughts onto paper/the screen in any kind of cohesive manner. But the type of writers block where I don’t want to write. At all. This is a completely new phenomenon for me, I love to write. I love to sort out my thoughts and categorize them in a neat, 12-point font with equal margins. But right now I dread the idea of opening a blank page. I don’t want to vomit out my thoughts to be sorted into paragraphs and bullet points. I need a vacation.
And because I am the CFO of heidikins.com (that would be the Chief Footwear Officer) I am granting myself permission to sign off for a while. I need some time to sort out Stuff. Personal Stuff. Work Stuff. Life Stuff. My Stuff.
I’ll be back, although the timing of that return is currently undetermined. Just pretend I’m taking a road-trip type vacation; no itinerary, no specific plans, just me and my thoughts roaming across the country, trying to find some place where Stuff makes sense.

Relax and Recharge! I feel it’s necessary for mental health to disconnect every once in awhile.

Comment by RA 2008 March 13 @ 9:38 amI’m sorry… WHAT?
You are one of my go to bloggers. You’re my sure thing. It’s like the ex-boyfriend I still like as a person, and since we’re both single, I mean… what the hell.
I HAVE NEEDS. WHAT ABOUT ME AND MY NEEDS?
Too much?
What I LOVE is that everyone else is totally supportive and I’m all, “WTF?”
My tide is flowing left these days. Instead of right. Hence the mega comment.
OK. Fine. I get it. You need a break. Take some time. But don’t forget about me. You’ll come back. I know it. Usually when we bloggers attempt to walk away, that’s when we realize we can’t… we need our blogs.
That’s all. I promise.
Comment by Lou 2008 March 13 @ 9:56 amOh NO. I mean, I totally get it and take all the time you need. But I will MISS YOU. Does the writer’s block extend to emails?
Comment by Jess 2008 March 13 @ 9:58 amDon’t stay away too long! But I agree, some “you” time is always a good idea when you’re just not feeling up to it.
Maybe you can use the time to find some really great shoes for spring. As CFO and all!

Comment by Z 2008 March 13 @ 3:57 pmI’m sorry to hear that, Heidikins! I hope that you get caught up soon. As for writers block, I find that it helps to, first of all, tell myself I don’t *have* to write–at least, not for a set number of days. Sometimes I just need that vacation, that lack of pressure. And then I spend the time watching movies and reading books and blogs. Within a few days I’m feeling left out and can’t wait to tell stories again, just like all those other stories I’ve been watching and reading. Hope you find a solution that works for you, too.
