A few days in Boston and I started to feel like it was somewhere I could definitely live. I love the scholastically-oriented atmosphere, I love the Big City-ness, I love the endless “suburbs” that remind me so much of my downtown neighborhood in Salt Lake, I love the views of the city across the harbor and I love how close it is to everything. Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut are less than an hour away. New York City and Washington D.C. can be explored in a weekend. Fabulous! So far, these are my favorite things about Boston:
The view of the skyline from the Charles River.
Walking around Harvard Square.
Roof-top BBQ with views of the skyscrapers and the tree-tops.
Watching the sun set across the harbor. Despite the ridiculously long drive to get there, I had a great time in Boston and will definitely be back, although with skymiles and those little airplane snacks instead of 36-hours of car time.

Your summer sounds fun!
If I knew anything at all about fashion I could maybe teach Spencer but I have managed to teach him some musical terms including trebble clef, alto sharp (number sign) and flat (little b). Its an eb and flow.
Are you going to Miaken’s BBQ I think we will drop in. Love to see you.

I haven’t been to Boston in over 10 years, but I just reconnected with a couple of 4 year olds I was a nanny for(now 17) on Facebook and it has been SO fun that I want to go back and visit with my family. Thanks for the travelogue! It makes it that much more enticing.

Cole and I are both SO jealous of you!!! We have been wanting to go to Boston for some time now (him for the Red Sox and me for Dunkin Donuts and beautiful fall colors). It sounds like you had a wonderful time! We love you and hope to see you soon!
