The Pie Pizzeria is one of those local haunts that is a staple for college kids at the University of Utah. Just around the corner from campus this underground pizza place is home to the 23-inch pizza and countless memories. Last night Adam & I were craving pizza (ok, I was craving pizza and someone kindly obliged) and headed down to the Pie. In recent years this favorite restaurant has franchised out to the suburbs – but the original location is by far the best. Firstly, it is located underneath the pharmacy/mini-mart, it’s dark and broody, and during the afternoon and early evening can be tame enough for studying.
As the night wears on the music is turned up and it gets crowded with students (and real-life adults pretending to be students) trying to relax and have fun. The old, brick walls of the Pie have beens scribbled on, autographed and bear the wise words of thousands of people – pretty much ever conceivable surface is covered with something. From “Aaron was here” to “Mike loves Katie” to “Grampa Bill Survived the Pie”… it’s great! And, to top it all off – they have fantastic pizza!! Can you really ask for more? If you are in Salt Lake, I definitely suggest making a trip to the Pie!!

I went to the Pie for the first time five months ago. I can’t believe I waited so long to go! It was the bast freakin’ pizza I’ve ever tasted in my life. Little Caesar’s five dollar stuff will never be the same again.
(but I’ve never been to the one downtown. I’ve been to the on at Fort Union and the one in South Jordan)

Comment by alyndabear 2007 March 30 @ 5:58 pmYum, now I’m getting hungry. We have a dumpy little restaurant in Kansas City that has writing all over every surface. I could sit and stare at everything for hours, which is not good when you are supposed to be keeping up one whole end of a conversation.
