The Haight in San Francisco (also called Haight Ashbury) is a hippie/bohemian community packed with small cafes, funky boutiques and teeming with the most unique people you can imagine. The hippie movement actually began in The Haight and then spread across the country. On Saturday Kristy, Steph and I, with our respective boyfriends/lovers, went to breakfast at the Pork Store Cafe, located in the heart of Haight Ashbury (on Haight, between Ashbury & Masonic). This was perhaps the largest, yummiest breakfast I have had in ages – seriously, I couldn’t eat the rest of the day! This cafe is small and crowded, but the wait was totally worth it. Walking through this district you are bound to see all sorts of interesting people, shops and such – but my favorite is the pair of fishnetted, women’s legs appearing out of a second story window. You just can’t get more eclectic than that!
