Last night a group of friends headed to North Beach for some dinner in Little Italy. We went to Pinnochio’s, a small corner restaurant with pretty good food. It wasn’t great, but it was alright. To get to and from Little Italy, we had to walk through a very questionable neighborhood… those of you who know North
Beach probably can guess. I don’t think I’ve ever been that high simple by walking 2 blocks…the hallucinogens were floating through the air like CRAZY!
) But, the company was great, our waiter was charmingly Italian, and the smells from the neighborhod were amazing. I have been craving gnochii for weeks, these potato dumplings are incredibly tasty, but unfortunately, they just aren’t on any menu’s in Salt Lake. The gnochii at Pinnochio’s was fresh, made that day – although it wasn’t amazing – the sauce had very little seasoning and it kind of ruined the pasta for me. A few weeks ago while we were in Southern California, Adam & I went to an Italian restaurant in Downtown Disney and the gnochii there was much better. Roadtrip? Anyone?
After dinner we went to Mitchells, a San Francisco ice-cream establishment since 1948. Trying to find parking was insanity, and the line was arond the block – but in the end, soooo worth it! My favorite ice-cream happens to be Dulce de Leche, and I was not disappointed! It was amazing. Mitchell’s, though crowded comes highly recommended by me.1 Comment so far

mitchells is heaven. there’s also a place close to adam’s on irving and judah (i think) right across from cybelle’s pizza. it’s quaint and they have tons of little random knick knacks that clutter houses (alright, OCD kicking in now).
